ENDURO GP : ROUND 3 IN PORTUGAL
Despite the constraints related to Covid-19, the EnduroGP caravan was able to meet in Portugal for the third round of the season.
It was in Marco de Canaveces, a place familiar to regulars, the riders faced a demanding enduro with old-fashioned obstacles and challenges. The capricious weather made these two days of racing very intense.
In E1 Antoine Magain continues his progression. He finished second on the first day with the added bonus of a superb place in scratch (5th), Antoine suffered in the specials a little more on Sunday, but he fought to the finish and managed to reach the third step of the podium. This is also his position in the provisional standings.
In E2 Matteo Cavallo had more trouble than his team-mates, in fighting for the podium on Saturday he made a mistake in the Xtreme special which dropped him to fifth place. On Sunday Matteo finished sixth. He occupies fourth place in the provisional standings.
Our two E3 representatives, Enric Francisco and Jack Edmondson were absent from this Portuguese round, both are injured, and we will not see them in EnduroGP this season.
Finally, in the Junior class the Sherco riders continued their domination, this time it was Hamish Macdonald who won the two days of racing, he likes muddy conditions, and he was in his element.
Théo Espinasse was unfortunate on the first day but had a good performance on Sunday and finished in second place.
In the Junior provisional classification Hamish is the leader and Theo is right behind him.
