Stage by stage

The 9th stage of this 2022 Dakar took place at the bottom of sandy valleys, in canyons hollowed out between rocky hills. The 287km special was still very fast and navigation didn’t make the difference.
 

Each day in this 2022 Dakar is unique and must be taken as they come. Lorenzo Santolino hung on today to stay in contention. He decided this evening that it would be prudent to change the engine as a precaution and because of this he received a 15-minute penalty. He is now 12th overall and is keen to fight over the remaining 3 days to regain as many places as possible.

Rui Goncalves finished 15th today. He rode a beautiful special, he was fast on the slopes of the Wajid plateau and was able to climb up in the general standings. He is now in 25th place.

Harith Noah maintains the course and races at a good speed. He is now in 27th place in the general classification a little behind his teammate Rui.
