Sherco finishes with a smile!
Montag 16 Januar 2017
At the end of the 12th and final stage which went between Rio Cuarto and Buenos Aires, the two Sherco TVS Factory Rally Team riders, Joan Pedrero and Adrien Metge, finished 15th and 18th, upon their arrival in the Argentine capital.
"It was a great finish." The whole team gathered to congratulate them. This morning they left excited, it was a very fast special and full of dust. We had a very good second week. The motorcycles are still in very good condition and have had no problems, despite the very hot temperatures, very hard stages and the many hard miles.
Joan Pedrero finished 13th in the overall standings. "Joan came in with a big smile. He had a lot of fun rolling through the stage, he really loves his bike. It's great to see an experienced rider like him so happy. He came to the Dakar to win. However because of some small navigation errors he did not accomplish that goal. It is still a pleasure to see him happy with his finish. We will continue to work together and help him in his endeavor to eventually win the Dakar.”
Adrien Metge finished 22nd in the overall standings: "It would have taken another week for him to be ready to get off of the bike. What is positive is that he has now finished two Dakar’s, he proved that we can count on him. He likes to race long distances. As a manager, I am proud to have a rider like him. He has tremendous potential, I just have to find the right words to get him to the front. He has a great future as a rally racer. "
At the end of the Dakar, Thomas Teissier, representative of Sherco and the TVS Racing Manager, the Indian partner of Sherco, came to encourage their team: "We have risen in power and we are fast becoming one of the big Players in rally racing. We have motorcycles that have proven themselves with their performance here at Dakar. We are very happy with our team and our riders.”
"TVS is also very satisfied with the team's performance." We were congratulated by other important teams, we received a lot of encouragement. That motivates the entire organization. We have everything we need to succeed. We have a competitive bike, a great support team and the riders feel it. We will now load everything on the boat. Then, in a few days, we'll arrive back in Le Havre. We will rest and reflect on the calendar and our schedule for the rest of the 2017 season. "
